D2 Tool Steel is a high-carbon, high-chromium air-hardening tool steel, characterized by its high surface hardness and exceptional wear resistance. Due to its high chromium content (12%), D2 Tool Steel offers slight corrosion resistance in the hardened condition. It is the industry's go-to material for long-run cold work applications that require a combination of high compressive strength and maximum resistance to abrasive wear. Its superior dimensional stability during heat treatment makes it ideal for complex, high-precision tools.
