Product Overview
1.2080 Tool Steel is a high-carbon, high-chromium alloyed tool steel known for its exceptional resistance to abrasive and adhesive wear. Due to its high chromium content (12%), it offers superior edge-holding properties and significant compressive strength, making it the"workhorse"for high-volume cold work applications.
Compared to its"sibling"1.2379 (D2), 1.2080 Tool Steel provides even higher wear resistance, although with slightly lower toughness, making it ideal for tasks where surface endurance is the top priority.
